Is English your second language.  The float is the number of total shares available to trade.  You keep confusing the term float with the number of shares traded rather that available to trade.   Nobody reports the number of shares shorted at 26% but rather they are reporting 26% of the shares traded are shorted!  It is simple math in boath cases.  One is the number of share traded that are shorted expressed as a percentage,  The other is the number of shares short at a given point in times expressed as a percentage of the total float ie the total share available to trade....

Surely you understand this.................
