The Lion Electric Company is a manufacturer of zero-emission vehicles. The Company creates, designs and manufactures all-electric class 5 to class 8 commercial urban trucks and all-electric school buses. Malgr les dboires de Lion, le ministre de l’conomie et de l’Innovation, Pierre Fitzgibbon, est catgorique : il n’a « aucun enjeu » continuer d’aider l’entreprise. Il y a cependant un bmol : Ottawa doit envoyer le signal qu’il est prt appuyer sur l’acclrateur avec le FTCZE.
Contrairement au programme qubcois d’lectrification du transport scolaire, qui prvoit des incitatifs dtermins l’avance, le Fonds ngocie de gr gr avec les transporteurs scolaires pour dterminer le montant auquel ils auront droit.
« Si le FTCZE tait appliqu comme notre programme, je pense que Lion aurait ses enjeux de liquidits sous contrle, dit-il. J’ai clairement dit que nous tions prts aider. Mais a me prend un signal du fdral qu’ils vont tre capables d’excuter. »
