Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. is a Canada-based mining, development, and exploration company. It is focused on the mining, development and exploration of minerals and precious metals from its property interests located primarily in Africa. Its projects include Kamoa-Kakula Complex, Western Foreland, Kipushi and Platreef. The Kamoa-Kakula Complex project is a stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, approximately 25 kilometers (kms) west of the town of Kolwezi and approximately 270 kms west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi. The 17 licenses in the Western Foreland cover a combined area of 2,407 square kilometers to the north, south and west of the Kamoa-Kakula Copper Complex. The Kipushi Project lies adjacent to the town of Kipushi and 30 kms southwest of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi. Its Platreef project is situated approximately eight km from Mokopane and 280 km northeast of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Agree investors must determine where they see IVN's share price over their investment time frame and make their own decisions. However, interesting that the market doesn't seem too impressed with IVN's Q2 2024 results and subsequent investor conference call as today was the second day in a row of inferior performance by IVN vs. its Canadian copper producer peers:
 
Copper down 2.61%
 
TKO  down 3.64%
 
CS    down 4.42%
 
FM    down 5.44%
 
HBM  down 5.99%
 
IVN    down 8.37%....
 
...on volume of 2.4M (three-month average volume 2.1M)
 
Personally, I think there's a lot of expected good news already baked into the current share price, so when IVN releases its quarterlies, it may not be as impressive as the market expects. Maybe the market is not taking into account that a large chunk of each of IVN's three active projects are owned by other entities and thus IVN is only entitled to a portion of the earnings....?
