RE:Recession means increased public works spendingThank you for that. All timely & excellent Keynesian economics which would be applauded by the late JK Galbraith et al. However, let's also look at some possible pitfalls that might be around the corner. I'm sure there will be more but I'll mention only three.
1) Careful selection of sectors to invest in.
e.g. Is a battery plant the best investment when car manufacturers are facing disappointing EV sales and some are even reverting to ICE?
2) Waste of Public Funds When Governments Change.
Let's face it, we live in the age of doctrinaire economics Newly elected governments love to
trash projects, just because they were the other guy's. Doug Ford in Ontario canned hundreds of
millions of "green" projects for their colour. If DJT returns what will be the fate of previous
investments? Or for that matter here in Canada with PP?
3) What is the state of the government's own balance sheet? What % of its budget is currently
being sucked up by interest on accumulated debt? Are we approaching a dangerous tipping
point?
