Lockheed Martin's 'affordable' new hypersonic missile :
August 04 2024 :

The MAKO missile should reach speeds at Mach 5+ ( Mach 5 to Mach 10 = 3,836–7,673 mph (6,173–12,348 km/h); 1,715–3,430 m/s.

The speed of A bullet is fired at a typical muzzle velocity of around 2,700 ft. per second, or around 3,000 kilometres per hour.

That is 2x faster than a bullet and a sh*t load bigger !!!

In 2002 I hooked a 90kg striped Marlin in 20 minutes while on our monthly deep sea fishing  trips off the coast of Eastern Australia (Greenwell Point).
The fish was 8kgs heavier than me and it fed many families.
A few trips after that I hooked a 1.5 Metre MAKO Shark that took 45 minutes to bring on to the deck.
This fish did not give up and was berserk biting everthing and anything within its reach.
The Captain used a baseball bat to tenderise our sashimi lunch on board with soy, vinager and chilli oil dipping sauces.
Sorry for the rant. but, I like it.
