RE:Scotiabank signs agreement to buy 14.9 % stake in Key CorpI added more today as I thought BNS would move up on the news but it dropped instead. I suspect one of the attractions for KeyCorp is Scotia's Mexican banking unit. Don't forget they also did their due diligence and the premium Scotia paid is not that large. Mexico has surpassed Canada as the USA's largest trading partner. Banks witk Mexican-USA ties should do well. The transaction should be accretive to both banks, i.e 1+1=3. Time will tell.
