RE:CIBC Investors G5
Ok, so you had 5145 shares of KRR. You had a gain of $13,068.30...That's based on 6.94/sh of KRR by your calcs.
You lost that gain because you did not sell prior to the buy out. So forget the gain...forget it...it means nothing...
When the buy out happened, this what you should have had;
5145 X 2.524 = 12986 of WGX @ $2.40/sh
12986 X 2.40 = $31,166.40
5145 X 60.8 cents = $3,128.60
5145 X .3 = 1544 shares of Culico Metals Inc. (Currently awaing listing on the TSX.V)
So let's look at the dollar value:
$31,166.40 + $3128.60 = $34,294.56 (You can add the value of Culico to that amount at a later date)
Remember...forget the gain...if you mention this to the CIBC people it may just confuse them.
So just for fun (remembering that there is no current value on Culico) let's look at that $34,294.56
$34,294.56 / your value of $6.94 KRR = 4942
Your original KRR shares 5145 - 4942 = a loss of 203 KRR shares
(remember that there is no current value on Culico which would reduce that 203)
Let's do this:
Your old total value of KRR @ $6.94 minus your new total value of WGX @ $2.40 + 60.8 cents per share
$35,706.30 - $34,294.56 = $1411.74...not as bad as you thought
I used $2.40/sh because that was our opening price on day one...worth around $2.58/sh now.
