He is just unable to or unwilling to. Reporters questionned him today on this and he said, "He is who he is" and will be himself. He pushed back on Nikki Haley who told him to tone down and concentrate on economy. He replied that he beat her on the primary so his strategy is better.
New Polls today and Harris has a commanding 4 point lead over Trump in key swing states, which Trump must win. He went from up 10 points with Biden to down 4 points with Harris. It is obvious that people do not like TRUMP.
