RE:Shorting Percentage...Every single share in short is a share that has to be bought off the open market. Shorts are under contract to buy, even if the shareprice jumps up to a new all time high, or higher.

If you Google "short seller GoFundMe account" you will find articles about a short seller who learned this the hard way as he misunderstood the process
