RE:RE:RE:RE:SHARE BUY BACKSheadaroundtown - you are correct on this. Management has never been good at capital allocation. They don't really want to do buybacks, even if they should. The increased size of the company via acquisitions (even if unprofitable) allows them justification to pay themselves more. Buybacks don't.
Given how the market hates this company, I do suspect one thing they would consider is mgmt partnering with private equity for a buyout. Of course, they would want this done cheaply...and the board would have to sign off. Tougher to do with the Rotech comp recently but if they get hit with a big DOJ penalty and it starts trading even worse, they may be able to justify it.
The queston one would ask with the stock down 50% ytd and 65% over the last 3 years, why is there no insider buying? why is no one trying to buy them?
There are enormous synergies here for a strategic buyer.
