Earnings call presentation LOLYou have to check out the gaff here:
https://files.exro.com/investors/Q2-2024-Earnings-Call-Presentation.pdf Go to page 8 and check out the two charts on the right. (Maybe even save the PDF file because I am curious to see if they change this.) These purport to show and efficiency map accross the speed and torque envelope of incumbent techology and a simulation of their coil driver.
As you are most likey aware, efficiency is power out divided by power in. Now power out is speed times torque. So at zero speed and/or zero torque the power output is zero. The effiency at zero speed and/or zero torque is zero because output power is zero and zero divided by power input is zero. When operating at low speed and/or low torque the output power is close to zero and the efficiency is low. This is represented by the dark blue slivers/wedges along the axes in the upper "Incumbent Technology" efficiency map. Now look at the lower "Exro Coil Driver Simulation" efficiency map. In addition to the lack of gradient that would indicate that somebody spilled some MS Paint on it, there's no wedge of dark blue along the horizontal axis.
So these so called "power electronics experts" don't even know how to fudge their own efficiency map.
