Remember what happened when the installed resident (er, "president") Biden started running the show in the States? He started banning this and and that, shut down the pipelines, etc. Guess what happens when his regime is shown the door? Things revert back to how they were.
Even if a current administration mothballs open pit mining, you think that decision will be permanent for ever and ever and ever?! Not bloodly likely, but you already know this, don't you?
