RE:RE:RE:RE:New Press Release - GEN3 Silicon-Anode Lithium-Ion Batteries Outperform Graphite by 40% Without Degradation After 50 Cycles I should also add that there is the repeated theme of how transparent HPQ is with its information compared to other companies which may be just making claims that are not backed up by presented data. And in a separate discussion he says he will not divulge his business plan publicly to be copied.
A couple of thoughts. From what I have read, many companies developing new technologies that are published already have ties to big money and potential big end users. So, I imagine these backers get whatever information they want and there is no compelling reason for these companies to publish details of their journeys. In contrast, part of HPQ's journey now is to get backers so these news releases are one way to let the world know what they are doing.
The other thought is that publishing such details by others may be viewed by them as divulging too much competitive information and they therefore wait for the right time to release the right information. Perhaps they do not see the need to report against or to break the current "world record" because breaking that record without having other variables optimized is not as meaningful to them.
So, I say HPQ do what it has to do, but should not underestimate the massive battery development world out there. There's big money in this market and big money means big competition. We know that many players are resourced in 8 or 9 or even 10 figures. Surely they are also considering all the known research out there and twirling in new ways. A decade ago or decades ago, the kind of news we are seeing would have popped the stock quite a bit IMO and I am trying to figure out why it hasn't. This is one of my hypothesis....there's a lot more to be sorted out than maximum energy densities initially or after this many cycles. We will find out what that is.
