RE:Ditch the TSX

RE:Ditch the TSX
STRANGE COMMENTSt!!!
WFG "NEEDS to ditch their TSX listing"??? Why? What would that accomplish?

"The government is doing nothing to relieve the softwood umber duties". What do you want the government to do??? Declare war? (???)The US lumber lobby first got the US Comerce Department to impose duties on Canadian lumber in 1982 !!! And it's been going on ever since...What's changed is that commpanies like WFG and IFP have invested in assets in the states over time...to the point that their production comes to a large extent from the states now. WFG and IFP don't care much about the duties anymore....the way the US operates, the duties collected pile up for a few years, when a final determination of "harm" is agreed to and the duties are paid to the "injured" parties. There is over 8 BILLION sitting in the pile right now waiting for distribution. When that happens WFG and IFP's American based operations will claim to have been "injured" and collect their share of the pile....
All the duties do is increase the price of lumber for consumers. WFG and IFP pay some...add it to the price...and then a few years later they pick up a fat check from the Commerce Dept. Who cares anymore?

"No one is intersted in the TSX" ? LOL...I ONLY invest in commpanies listed on the TSX...been doing so for almost twenty years now....Fishing from a smaller pond you catch just as many fish, it's less work and when that giant storm hits it's simpler/quicker to run for cover.
