RE:Canada to Hit China With Tariffs on EV

RE:Canada to Hit China With Tariffs on EV100% tariffs on cars are nice for the liberal fan base and uninformed patriotic Canadians but does nothing for the adoption of EV's and therefore lithium.

All this means is Canadians ( I live here so that's my primary concern ) buy less EV's because many people just can't afford them. Period end of story. Less need for the govt of any stripe to build out the charging infrastructure. No govt is going to put themselves on the line and say " hey, let's build a cost intensive charging network for the relatively small amount of people who own EV's. "  Good luck being re-elected after raising taxes for a useless network. Not that it hasn't been done before but still...

I'm all for reasonable tariffs but would prefer a deal where the cars and batteries are made here so we can " learn " meaning steal the superiour Chinese tech the way they have always done and will continue to do and employ our people.

Good on them too. Smart smart people. Beat the West at our own game.

Steel and aluminum... hell ya. Tariff away as we don't need their lower quality, environemntally damaging products when we can produce a better product more sustainably here.

If I could buy a $15-$20,000 Chinese EV as a second car I would very seriously consider it. A $30,000 plus... not a chance. I'll drive my Acura till the wheels fall off. My F150 too.
