BOGO Completes First Gold Pour of 2024Today, Borealis Mining (BOGO.v) announced its first gold pour of 2024 at its on-site ADR facility, yielding dor bars weighing approximately 651 troy ounces, with 143 troy ounces of gold (21.968% Au) and 131 troy ounces of silver (20.169% Ag)
The gold was extracted from 2.5 out of 10 carbon columns loaded through residual leaching with a dilute cyanide solution.
In the near term, BOGO plans to strip the remaining columns and apply fresh cyanide to the previously unleached sections of the leach pad and expects higher gold content in future pours.
Additionally, the company sent spent carbon fines for further refining, containing 76.504 troy ounces of gold and 305.012 troy ounces of silver.
BOGO CEO, Kelly Malcolm, expressed satisfaction with the results and announced plans to increase production frequency, stating:
"We are very pleased to announce our first gold pour of the year, which will now increase in frequency as we strip our remaining carbon columns and start to put fresh cyanide on our leach pad. We are also in the process of seeking contractors to crush our ~330,000 ton stockpile of ore, which should also generate meaningful gold production for the Company and our shareholders. Borealis is unique to many of our peers in the junior exploration sector, in that we are revenue generating and control a fully permitted mine and ADR facility."
With a permanent mine site capable of pouring gold on-site, BOGO's flagship, the Borealis Gold Mine has a historical M&I resource of 1.831M ounces Au at 1.28 g/t and an inferred resource of 195,000 ounces Au at 0.34 g/t.
Further, BOGO's 20-square-mile alteration zone in Nevada is one of the largest in the region and is particularly noteworthy. Despite only 10% of the area being drilled, significant gold indications have already been discovered, supported by evidence from past mining activities conducted when gold prices were lower. The presence of open pits within the alteration zone further emphasizes the area's potential.
