RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Things are going from bad to worse in MexicoPolitics, much like the wind, changes the direction it blows given time. A few years ago, nobody was concerned about Mexican mining. Now some are showing concern. Nobody knows if a hiatus will ensue and it so for how long. Short-term traders and investors dislike uncertainty. The long term investors have a time horizon to weather storms.
There is too much $$ involved in this project to mothball it permanently. There are too many constituents involved to let this much revenue and jobs go by the wayside. A ruling party, if they want to stay a ruling party, can't exepct to destroy their economy with no negative fallout.
All of this banter reminds me of the debate in the States where the Dems want to institute a tax on unrealized cap gains. Despite it being unconstitutional, it would never get enough votes to pass and worrying about it is a waste of time. From what I have read and heard, there are not enough votes in both houses in Mexico to pass a ban on mining. But, let's see how this plays out. I'm not worried, although I am willing to shoulder the risks of delays with permitting if worse comes to worse.
If you're a closet bull , then continue to accumulate. If you're sour on the scenario go ahead and short the stock. If you are neither a bull or a bear, why are you hanging out at this bullboard?
