Obviously, it is simply impossible to assert “good results” for events yet to occur. I think part of what is interfering with the acceptance of what we’ve learned about the effects of climate change is partly a mere reluctance to change. Also a portion of the resistance comes from the fossil fuel industry out of self-interest, and followers of a political charlatan who proclaims without the slightest evidence that climate change is a hoax.
Besides bad news is always much harder to accept. Who’s to blame anyone for wishing our civilization wasn’t facing the existential threat of the collapse of world trade. I sure do.
