Go Éric Martel Go

Go Éric Martel Go

I like ric Martel as Bombardier manager. Very solid. In fact, I am such a fan, if he goes, I go.

Here’s why I like him.

When he started as CEO on April 6th 2020 BBD was about $10 a share, now it’s $88. Not too shabby. It was in the middle of COVID. He had worked before at Bombardier so understood the business and had a big network. Including customers. Decisions were made to restructure (not by him) to move out of rail transportation and commercial airlines. Tough job. He got this done.

So, Bombardier had 5000 aircraft flying around and he decided to make money on these by building after sales Service centers around the world. Melbourne, London, Berlin…

The next move: to develop its defense sector. Sell Globals to carry out surveillance. A nice high margin business. Over 50 countries are part of the Bombardier Defense portfolio. Quality countries like USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany… (not Canada. Our beloved leader bought Boeing to do the same job. Another of his many great decisions).

Here’s another part of the story. Bombardier had been removed from the S&P/TSX. He waits. He gets things to improve. Bombardier performs and it gets relisted. Then he goes for 25 to 1 split. Well played ric.

Then he focuses on debt reduction. Just check it out yourself. Very disciplined. His eye is still on the ball. Well played again.

Do yourself a favor and stop checking the stock price every coffee break. It will drive you nuts.

The company’s fundamentals are improving all over the place. We are in a great place here. Have patience. We will be rewarded. Maybe sooner than you think.

Good luck to all

Snowey
