Lavras Gold Corp. is a Canada-based exploration company focused on realizing the potential of a multi-million-ounce gold district in southern Brazil. The Company is engaged in the exploration and development of the Lavras do Sul gold project located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The Lavras do Sul gold project is an advanced exploration stage property that is located approximately 320 kilometers, from the state capital of Porto Alegre and spans approximately 23,000 hectares in size and comprised of 37 mineral rights centered on historic gold workings. The Company also owns a 2% net smelter return (NSR) revenue-based royalty that applies to 65,000 hectares of exploration ground around Hochschild’s Mara Rosa mine in Goias State in central Brazil.

The mineralized zone appears to be an irregular shaped pipe-like feature plunging to the northwest.

There is a strong structural control to gold mineralization.
Specifically, northeast trending structures are thought to play an important role in localizing and focusing gold mineralization.

They are referring to the fault lines.

Just look at the direction of the fault lines and you will see that they are trending NW in parrellel , crossing the other discoveries such as Canalaria much as you would expect .

Thats why the current thinking is that that there may be several parallel northeast trending structures to the northwest that are important exploration targets that remain untested.

Surface exploration work in the area has also identified several targets that require drill-testing soon as the exploration program evolves.

A third drill has been mobilized to the Orlaria which is at the end of the fault line of the Caneleira concession where numerous exploration targets have been defined through surface exploration work including soil geochemistry, favourable structural patterns identified by drone a magnetic survey and air photo interpretation, and old workings including trenches and pits that have been sampled.

The targets on Orlaria and the Caneleira concession are interpreted to be structurally controlled cataclastic gold systems associated with important northeast trending structures.

So now,  Drilling is currently testing the Orlaria target  which was tested by Amarillo Gold, and returned multiple intervals of gold mineralization across an interpreted northeast trending structure .

So, the drilling discoveries are unfolding as expected here with the new geological model now leading the way, connecting the multiple but little drilled discoveries to the NW much in the way as a new gold district is drill expanded.

In summary, the NW structural faults , very closely aligned with strong soil anomalies , artisanal mining and a series of new discoveries along the way to the NW wherever the drill enters the surface, are fully congruent with what you would expect from the early delineation of a new gold district..
