RE:Will this be just another Bert Friesen Failure?Hey Pholover, How does this board allow Bert to continue his self serving? Bert’s Medicure MC-1 fails, so he uses one of his personally owned holding company to file patents on next generation MC-1. Then turns around and convinces board to agree in acquiring those patients for $100k upfront and $500k for filing an IND and tens of millions in additional milestones, plus royalty that goes directly to Bert’s back pocket. Totally self-serving. Why wouldn’t he ever be looking out for his investors best interests and do that work within Medicure? He wouldn’t get away with this way of running a business in the US and there’d be a class action lawsuit.
Look at the history, investors have lost their money on every public company he's established or been invovled. Not a single positive outcome to be found. The investments of public companies have all ended in him getting kicked out/wound down or basically insolvent, starting with ABI Biotech/Apotex/Cangene/Novopharm (comapny turn around after he was removed), Kane Biotech (kicked of board), Diamedica (kicked off board), Miraculins (kicked off board), Waverley Biotech (maintained control but basically insolvent). Yet he found a way to squeeze money out of each via GVI, board fees or over inflated rent he charged these companies. Just go and do your own diligence via Sedar filings/TSX.
Altough the Dr. Friesen (PhD, not a MD), has won all sorts of awards from “10 best biopharma companies”, “Top 10 Pharmacy in US”, “Healthcare Technology COO”, “Top 25 Leaders in Biotechnology”, “One of Best Places to Work in 2024”. However these are all awards that are either paid directly or require “sponsorship”. I bet he never told his board or investors these are all paid articles . . .
