The Cardium is still one of the biggest fields in Canada. Lots of egress, lots of infrastructure and an easy place to find staff. Every year there seems to be a new play type created in the same area code.
Bonterra just needs to ride out the gas market storm on its way to creating a brand identity the market can recognize. They are not a heavy oil producer like OBE or TVE, they are not a pure exploreco.
They ARE a light oil producer with premium Tier 1 drilling locations in at least 3 play types that require similar drilling techniques and experience.
They are great at assembling land quietly and cheaply. And they have a longhistory of rewarding shareholders. Their cost control is also top notch.
With a tiny bit of cooperation from the commodity price, each of their business units should be worth more than the current market cap at some point.
