Xali Gold’s CEO, Joanne Freeze, was the QP geologist for Arequipa who made a massive gold discovery during the 1990s in Peru. Recently, they announced a deal to acquire a project in Peru along the geological trend where Arequipa made their Pierina gold discovery. I’m a big fan of Peru due to the incredible geology and most recently because the government is opening their arms to mining. For several years, they had politicians that were against mining, but they have totally switched that into being mining-friendly similar to what President Milei of Argentina is doing. Joanne Freeze is a very talented geologist who has spent most of her career in Peru, she knows the geology inside out in the country. I was impressed to see the addition of the project in Peru that is a great compliment to their project in Mexico. Their El Oro project in Mexico is a tremendous exploration project. It had historical mining of over 5 million ounces of high-grade gold from two epithermal veins in a cluster of epithermal veins. Yet, is still underexplored. High-grade gold epithermal veins systems are rare but can be spectacular such as Hishikari in Japan. I’m looking forward to drilling at their Peru project followed by drilling in Mexico.
