Yes Bob, DOD does a lot of stupid things. But may point out that new weapon tech is not one of them. The five years before I retired DOD got hit with a lot of GAO audits fron comgress. So the whole thing in this area has been under a microscope. In the past DOD would have picked 3 to 4 for testing. But these days they have to be very picky who they choose for this. No congressman and senator was pushing any company in this batch of 15 companies that answered the bid letter. So I am thinking that Ucore got picked on merit of tech not outside pull.
