Importance DBL - Zone 3In general lode deposits include a wide range of lithological and structural types. The veins at Alkenore usually consist of coarse or “cherty” quartz. Higher grade gold occurs in small fractures within the larger veins and is associated with iron sulfides. Mineralization is usually in the form of either 1) Au-bearing silica-sulfide replacement, and 2) Au-bearing quartz veining that is characteristic of many other Archean greenstone gold deposits in NW Ontario. Heritage will look to conduct further work at the prospect to help define the presence of a much larger deposit along strike and depth.
