RE:I would say ….. Well, as i3 Energy management posted in their press release this morning, Gran Tierra will be publishing a webcast soon to tell us what a great deal this is for Gran Tierra shareholders. Meanwhile GTE is slipping just under 3% today when WTI is up $1.21 US. All other oil companies are up.
Just to note, Gran Tierra currently sells their oil at Brent price. i3 Energy sells their oil to USA at WTI prices at best, probably discounted!
I ask, how could this been a perfect fit (synergies) that paying such a premium and further debt for? The Gran Tierra webcast coming soon as i3 Energy mentioned, will have to be very, very convincing.
Frank007 you say “they must be trying to exit Columbia with all the terrorist activity starting again”. Maybe, but, they have been there in the region for so long and have seen all the corruption, violence and shut down through those years. They could have left long ago.
This acquisition smells!
