Well you proved that point. You can post what you want whether it's true or not. I take it as a good sign when trolls are posting FUD. So, to be clear, NO, the recent buying interest from Thompson et al is NOT the same as the last year, and you have no evidence it is due to the employee stock purchase plan. Or you've provided none. Not the recent buying, not the prior year either. So YES, the recent insider buying can be viewed as a positive signal. As is commonly said, "insiders sell for many different reasons (divorce, home purchase, college tuition, summer home etc etc) but they buy for only one reason. To make money".
