The old starting wage was around $60K/year.  The new rate will be around $80K/year.  For comparison, if you check the Ontario Sunshine List you will see the average TTC Operator (bus driver) wage is about $110K/year.  The guy who drove the bus to the airport makes almost 50% more than the guy flying you across the country or around the world.

The top wage has been reported by AC as being $385K/year.  Well, obviously what they have done is search through the payroll system and found the one pilot with 40 years at the company, in his last year before retirement, flying the biggest airplane and working overtime - this guy made $385K so "Pilots can earn up to $385K/year."  Obviously not representative of the average or the mean.
