RE:We are flying today! Now up over 5%
Perhaps this is in reaction (no pun intended) to Microsoft announcing the restart of the Three Mile Island nuclear plant to supply electricity for their (AI?) data centers. in a TD report a few months ago on the Alberta Power supply there was mention of a potential addition to the amount of power that will be needed in Alberts in the near term. Speculation was that this increase was to service data centers attracted to Alberta by the potential of gas fired power stations and a plentiful supply of natural gas. Transalta would be a beneficiary directly or indirectly of any increase in production.

The trend is for data centers to move to where the power is generated. The Microsoft announcement highlights the massive amount of electricity that will be needed to service the data centers and the computing power needed for AI..
