RE:Great good news for Nuclear Power IndustryThe 3 Mile Island was the first major accident that froze the building new nuclear plants in the US. This happened 2 weeks after the movie China Syndrome which the timing so impeccable, this sent maximum fear of the Nuclear fallout to the American public.
After all these years, who would have thought they will restart the 3 Mile Island reactors.
The movie had big Hollywood stars and it was called China Syndrome because it implied that the nuclear meltdown will melt down and reach China through earth's crust.
I don't think even Fukushima nor Chernybol accident exceeded the fear meter that US public felt just because it happened in the US homeland.
