RE:RE:RE:This rally is more than just chasing yield...During covid when I was buying SIA, EXE and CSH, the banter across these boards was how they were all headed for bankruptcy as everyone talked up not-for-profit and home care models.
Non-profit just doesn't work. Governments are already sinking in debt and bureaucracy. For anyone complaining at wait times to enter a LTC facility, it would only worsen under a non-profit model. Just look to our national healthcare, it is already stressed with many folks even without a doctor.
At the same time, a home care model is extremely difficult and expensive. I know because it was my father's wish to stay home. We honoured that wish but I can tell you it's extremely challenging for a family to care for a senior who needs more than 2 hours/day care and for the majority it is not economically possible. We even hired one of the nurses to live in-home 24 hours and it was still a challenge.
LTC is here to stay and in fact will grow in demand as the baby boom generation squeezes through it.
