I don't know how to interpret that statement. Had they done some testing on materials that exceeded 2000 cycles, then GEN1 and GEN2 iterations were a technical regression since their degradation was significant after only 150 cycles. If my understanding and interpretation is incorrect, then there is something to be said about how they write stuff because I certainly don't consider my comprehension and education as below average.
