Masterthink should not overthink
1. Kodiak has promising Porphyry system. Large scale and low grade like all porphyry projects but grade is better than nearby Copper Mountain Mine by about double. Gate zone is commercial in right development scenario.
2. New information about Adit zone is potentially important, depending on the results of additional Adit zone coress that are pending. That zone might be an accelerator. A near to surface relatively high grade area that can be developed quickly and provide early cash flow while Gate zone is getting more complex preparation for open pit mining.
3. Some additional copper mines are needed, maybe 10-20 in the next 10-20 years. This project may be one of the sites that are developed. Teck is the likely suspect since they have invested twice and are the largest investor in Kodiak Copper at 9.9% HudBay is right down the road at Copper Mountain.
4. Filo has been bought out (richly) in August by BHP and Lundin. They are in Chile, have great Phorphyry system. But Filo also has accelerator in high grade shoot of rich silver that can provide early cash flow. Filo property can be a mine for sure but not that easy. High altitude, border area, water scarce. Turned out great for Filo holders but that silver was a big plus in making that happen
Kodiak riight to focus on BC MPD property. Chance of Arizona property becoming a mine is low and far in future. They are putting their resources exactly where the should.
5. If Kodiak property is to become one of the 10-12 needed copper mines, they will have to be bought by Tech or HudBay or other. Could happen in next 1-2 years. There will be a premium of several multiples but not necessarily a big score unless they add some new stuff, to increase scale (additional phorphyry deposits) or grade, especially of near surface mineralization. Very few explorationprojects become mines. This one might.
