RE:Sabot in works to break off fangs?

RE:Sabot in works to break off fangs?" the project was a bad idea, poorly executed. Including its finances."

Let's be clear, there is no argument that Pala’s performance was a major contributor to the miserable outcome, just as there is no reason to believe that they (Pala) ever intended to build a mine in Nevada.  What made more sense was funding the permitting process and BFS so they could pedal it to a major interested in its domestic reserves.  That was the idea.  Whether that plan was “good” or “bad” with the advantage of 20/20 hindsight, the truth is that many experienced mining investors at the time recognized Pumpkin Hollow as a very promising project.

Things started going wrong when Republicans in the House refused to take up the land swap bill for nearly a year, legislation that made the project feasible.  Anyone can look up the price of copper, the dates of when the bill was filed and when the House took a vote to pass the legislation.   The facts are the Republicans were seeking retribution against Sen. Harry Reid OF NEVADA then the Senate leader, for refusing to bring up far-right legislation they had passed in the House.  Lyon county had the worst unemployment in the state, around 13% if I recall correctly, and it was obvious that starting up a mine in Lyon County would help Harry Reid’s constituents and make him more popular with the public.

The reason that I’m whipping this dead horse is because irresponsible (IMO) remarks have been posted questioning the value of those reserves.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one to my knowledge has gone back to the feasibility study, identified any errors or omissions, and contradicted the conclusion that the ore body could be mined profitably.
