Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

RE:RE:RE:Great US job numbersWell nature has already figured out how to pack the most available energy in the least amount of mass (highest energy density). Hydrocarbons, which are already stored solar energy made through natural biological and geological pricesses (phytoplankton to kerogen to hydrocarbons) store 60 times more available energy per kilogram than the best lithium battery. Some oxygen, a spark for inputs and you can power cities. About the only other practical source of available energy with orders of magnitude higher energy density is the binding energy release from uranium nuclei in a fission reaction. 

To your point, the US (North America) also has piles of deep water ports on two oceans abd the GOM and soon the Arctic as well. Plus the rest of the planet is crazy, unstable run by autocratic psychopaths so why even bother investing a dime there?
