US Department of Energy released its updated Nuclear Liftoff Report showing that the US needs ~700–900 Gigawatts of additional clean firm power to achieve its NetZero by 2050 goal, with a TRIPLE of 24/7 carbon-free Nuclear by +200 Gigawatts as key. They forecast that US Uranium mining & milling must increase by ~71,000 metric tonnes U3O8 PER YEAR (+156 Million lbs) which for the US alone is a doubling of the entire global Uranium production of 2024! Nuclear power ticks every DOE box as the clear & cost-effective pathway to achieve NetZero energy security when you factor in the full benefit of 80-year clean firm reactors and leverage the existing workforce & supply chains used to build the Vogtle 3 & 4 Westinghouse AP-1000 reactors in Georgia.
