Right now I am monitoring the NASDAQ afterhours where current volume is 1.5 million shares traded as opposed to a few hundred thousand on a regular / average day.

Who are the buyers and who are the sellers ?

If you're thinking the total short position number will change tomorrow then you're likely right IMHO
