I worked for several years as a nuclear engineer (Combustion Engineering, subsequently acquired by Alstom, then Westinghouse, then Cameco). I don't think investors fully-grasp the relevance of Cameco's holdings outside of simply uranium production. Cameco owns significant uranium conversion and reifining capacity, and has a 1/4 stake in an up-and-coming laser enrichment company. Westinghouse employs a majority of the nuclear engineers in north America.
Then, going back to uranium producition, there's the fact that Cameco has compiled a first-rate set of idled conventional and ISR deposits and production facilities.
Cameco spans nuclear power generation, and owns or has a large stake in most of the major players in the West.
