RE:Interesting comment Bart Hendriks on post linkedin 407 👀Better

Thanks Dr Amine Korchi! Before Elon’s team gets too comfy: Grok needs to be better than a radiologist (backed by tons of clinical evidence). And then... Grok needs to be adopted by radiologists and actually paid for. Adopting AI hasn't exactly been love at first sight in radiology, so let’s see if Elon’s new baby has an easier time getting in the door thanks to its sugar daddy’s name!
Bold move, Elon !

Elon Musk just tweeted that his new AI,
Grok, is “already quite accurate” at analyzing radiology exams, and he’s encouraging people to test it out.

Fun fact: Grok thought a breast MRI was a brain scan on its first try !

Musk's “state-of-the-art” language model recently scored a staggering $6 billion in Series B funding. But let’s face it, that’s a pricey misdiagnosis !

This type of overstatement aligns with Silicon Valley's “fake it till you make it” spirit.

Having said that, AI-powered chatbots will undeniably advance in handling medical and radiology cases—it’s just a matter of time and data. As high-quality, high-volume data comes in, I see a future where these tools are reliable enough to assist clinicians and researchers, and maybe even interact directly with patients. But for now ? Let’s just say, we’re not quite there yet !

Good try, Elon ! ;)

Given time to advance their algorithms and build expert databases, there's no doubt that AI will become better (most likely better than humans, yes) at diagnosis and analysis...but the tech world also needs to be reminded sometimes that confidence isn't the same thing as competence.
