HPQ Silicon Inc V.HPQ

Alternate Symbol(s):  HPQFF

HPQ Silicon Inc. (HPQ) is a Canada-based technology company specializing in green engineering of silica and silicon-based materials. The Company is engaged in developing, with the support of technology partners PyroGenesis Canada Inc. (PyroGenesis) and Novacium SAS, new green processes to make the critical materials needed to reach net zero emissions. Its activities are centered around the three pillars: becoming a green low-cost (Capex and Opex) manufacturer of Fumed Silica using the Fumed Silica Reactor, a proprietary technology owned by HPQ being developed for HPQ by PyroGenesis; becoming a producer of silicon-based anode materials for battery applications with the assistance of Novacium SAS, and Novacium SAS is engaged in developing a low carbon, chemical base on demand and high-pressure autonomous hydrogen production system. The Company operates in a single operating segment, segment, being the sector of the transformation of quartz into silicon materials and derivative products.

RE:RE:RE:New Press Release - 500 Cycles Major Milestone: Novacium's Silicon-Based Anode Batteries Demonstrate High Capacity and High Durability

RE:RE:RE:New Press Release - 500 Cycles Major Milestone: Novacium's Silicon-Based Anode Batteries Demonstrate High Capacity and High Durability@ordos From the LinkedIn article regarding yesterday's NR: "With these impressive results from our GEN3 anodes, HPQ Silicon and Novacium are already looking to the future and actively developing GEN4 technology. This next generation promises even greater energy densities and further advancements in battery performance, reinforcing our commitment to building a sustainable energy future."

@ordos Just to confirm that while HPQ Silicon is moving towards commercialization of Gen3, they are actively working on Gen4, which will see further increased energy density and performance.

@ordos As a result they may converge at a certain point and with the pilot plant can produce both Gen3, Gen4, and maybe further improved materials.

@ordos HPQ Silicon's grid independent hydrogen generator, which is often overlooked and is under the radar compared to the other business lines. Here is a diagram from the same person Karl Rheinberger, who is an advisor to Bernard, depicting the process compared to traditional hydrogen production / distribution:

@ordos As per yesterday's interview, the work on this generator is actively ongoing and they are in discussions with scaling it up with industrial entities. The benefits are obvious and it is disruptive:

1. No electricity input and therefore grid independent. Only silicon metal based powder and water containing liquid
2. No compression
3. No transportation of hydrogen gas
4. No storage of hydrogen gas
5. Hydrogen is generated directly at point of consumption and already pressurized (!)
6. Non-toxic silicon byproduct

Based on a reaction between proprietary silicon metal based alloy powder and anything containing water, even urine can be used, to produce hydrogen gas. No electricity or any other input, only the powder and water. Silicon byproduct can be used as construction material additive.

This is once again all on top of HPQ Silicon's ability to produce its own zero carbon high purity silicon metal using QRR, which none of the competitors dependant on silicon metal have a clean / reliable source of or can produce on their own.

Some great points from @ordos:

@ordos Excellent news.

The significance of this NR cannot be understated:

1. HPQ Silicon / Novacium are not just declaring results, they have real life results with a full cell battery and with most capacity restrictive form factor (cylindrical) for the most tested and well known 18650 battery. With this NR they also revealed actual performance of a real device by a real prospective customer, further confirming as they stated multiple times, the performance demonstrated translates into real application directly with the stated capacity gains

2. 500 cycles is not partial cycle tests, those are full depth of discharge rigorous tests 100% charge to 0%. Real life applications would have much higher number of partial charge cycles

3. Minor tweak would make the remaining capacity > 90% after 500 cycle

4. The remaining capacity at 85% is still higher than NEW comparable high performance graphite batteries. That's WITHOUT the tweak

5. These results are all for just the Gen3 material

6. The fact that HPQ Silicon / Novacium decided to go this far in cycle testing for Gen3 and the last news release, pertaining patent for scaling up the semi-continuous / continuous production of the SiOx material from quartz rock to final SiOx battery anode additive material, further confirms that HPQ Silicon is proceeding to commercializing Gen3 material as is already. The market for this material is 3C (computers, consumer, communications) markets and is already massive

7. Another reminder that this material can be added to any existing lithium ion graphite anode batteries out there WITHOUT ANY equipment changes. This is further confirmed by the large number of new NDAs
