Early Testing at the Pobrdje Boron Property

Early Testing at the Pobrdje Boron PropertyHi tmp25000,

Did you know the Mining Institute of Serbia conducted a series of preliminary benefication and hydro-metallurgical studies on bulk borate samples from the Pobrdje deposit 20 years ago as requested by Ibar Mines.

Studies were designed to investigate the feasibility of producing marketable products from the borate samples, and the studies indicated that the borate calcium ore could be readily upgraded to a high grade of 99.6% borate mineral concentrate, by utilizing conventional high intensity magnetic separation techniques.

As an added benefit, the tailing from the process were suitable for use in the production as a marketable grade of boron enriched fertilizers.

Conventional weak sulfuric acid leaching of the concentrate followed by evaporation and recrystalization of the pregnant solution permitted the manufacture of a technical grade boric acid 99.96% boric acid(H3BO3).
