AMQ Provides Update on B26 Phase II Drill Program Abitibi Metals Corp. (Ticker, AMQ.c or AMQFF for US investors), a mineral acquisition and exploration company focused in Quebec, recently gave an update on its ongoing 16,500-metre Phase II drill program at the B26 Polymetallic Deposit.
This drill program is part of AMQ's strategy to expand the resource potential across open-pit, mid-level, and deep plunge targets at B26, where they aim to confirm and extend mineralized zones previously left out of historical estimates.
Key Developments:
-
Phase II Drill Program Progress: Ten holes totaling 8,086 metres have been completed so far in the 16,500-metre Phase II program. This phase is critical for resource expansion and validation of mineral continuity across multiple deposit zones.
-
Open Pit Development: AMQ is re-sampling and re-logging historical drill data at near-surface open-pit targets to verify mineral continuity and identify resource extensions. Planned drilling will target potential new mineralized lenses and expand resources in this section by program end.
-
Significant Mineralization at Depth: At the Western Plunge target, drill hole 1274-24-342 intersected mineralization over 60 metres, showcasing veinlets with disseminated chalcopyrite-pyrite, indicators of copper-gold mineralization. This target zone is undergoing deep testing with 10 planned holes over 12,025 metres to explore potential stockwork systems and higher-grade shoots at depth.
-
Mid-Level Resource Growth: Planned drilling will include 25 holes across 19,485 metres aimed at demonstrating continuity of higher-grade mineralization below 300 metres, including newly encountered polymetallic mineralization. Drill results will guide additional hole prioritization in this area.
Notably, the Phase II program is fully funded, with $14 million allocated to complete the 2024 exploration efforts and support an additional 20,000 metres of drilling in 2025, which will contribute to a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the project.
