Baytex Energy Corp. is a Canada-based energy company. The Company is engaged in the acquisition, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and in the Eagle Ford in the United States. Its crude oil and natural gas operations are organized into three main operating areas: Light Oil USA (Eagle Ford), Light Oil Canada (Pembina Duvernay / Viking) and Heavy Oil Canada (Peace River / Peavine / Lloydminster). Its Eagle Ford assets are located in the core of the liquids-rich Eagle Ford shale in South Texas. The Eagle Ford shale covers approximately 269,000 gross acres of crude oil operations. Its Viking assets are located in the Dodsland area in southwest Saskatchewan and in the Esther area of southeastern Alberta. It also holds 100% working interest land position in the East Duvernay resource play in central Alberta.

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:BTE US PRODNI don't understand why you guys are so pro selling assets, a company sells its assets for 2 main reasons. 1- if the assets are not core and economically not profitable (generating negative FCF).
2-the company is in financial distress and can't pay its interest and debt which are due in near term.
BTE is not in any of these situations, BTE is able to pay its interest at $50 WTI. And if you think oil drops to $50 and stays there for long time, then you should not be invested in oil companies, this is not another COVID period that oil crushes that low. $50 oil is not profitable for OPEC+ nor for US and Canadian producers, yes it may or may not go higher than $80 under Trump presidency, but IMO oil will average $70+ I agree that so far BTE has preformed poorly than its peers, but Q3 showed significant strength, just hope that the management keeps good work and not surprises us with negative news from now on.
