I did this with TC energy at low $40s, ENB at $43, AP at $16 and I hold them all and take my dividends and use these to offset with growth stocks
You are doing the same thing what I am doing since pandemic. I own ENB up 40% , used to own TC but sold when Biden killed XL,switched to PPL up 40% etc. Now thinking to trim PPL don't see much of the legs left and add TD into RRSP acc. Bought TD a few weeks ago into 2 accounts. Sold FCD.UN and bought CHR up 10 % . If it hits $ 4 I will sell and may buy BCE. No rush. Yesterday bought MFA for dividend but got whacked since they missed the earnings but they will benefit from US interest rate cut. I am cashing out all my dividends and spending them. Not willing to subsidize my losses, If any.
