RE:health care article - CBCHaving worked in the HealthCare IT industry (hospital) this article is full of half-truths. The truth is that the software available is basically garbage. The big 3 make it difficult to share information (which is only now starting to happen) and their interfaces are DOS like and not modern at all. Further when you upgrade systems some of them do not let you bring all the patient information into the new system which forces nurses and doctors to go looking for the information in the "old" system.
We have patient portals in some areas but only if you choose to implement. Doctors are also a part of the problem in sharing information because a lot of them do not want to get "reports" from other doctors because then they have to act on the information. Having said that and in their defense the amount of information they do receive makes it difficult to see everything.
AI will be huge because it should be able to alleviate the information burden from a physician and alert them on the important stuff. The risk then moves to the AI company and what happens if the AI misses something? Can't wait for those lawsuits.
Sorry for the babble but this is just another piece of garbage from the CBC.
