Rule #1...never fall in love....

Rule #1...never fall in love....With a woman or a stock.  It completely clouds your judgement and makes you rationalize every bad thing that comes along.

Despite a huge gold and silver BULL MARKET.....you sit on your beloved I80 while it seeks out new all time lows.

You talked yourself into loving Ewan Downey without ever considering that perhaps he's a professional con man who's made a lot of money mining shareholders over many years

You talked yourself into loving the stock even as the shorts continue to pile on...blaming them like an abused spouse blames herself and never considering that maybe, just maybe, they know something you don't

You fell in love with drill results forgetting entirely that what's truly important is how much money it will cost to retrieve one of those outstanding ounces a mile underground

You fell in love with Nevada and Hub and Spoke completely ignoring the hundreds of millions it will cost to get this model to work

You fell in love with the magical JV thinking it brings salvation and never considering who controls this deal if there even is one. I80 needs money, any partner likely doesn't...who is going to come out ahead in a deal?  Doesn't even cross your mind.

Now you're in love with the new CEO as if he can do something Ewan couldn't. Changing the captain on a sinking ship doesn't save the ship. Or you, the crew.

And to make matters worse you're in love with the earnings call next week as if that will clear the whole mis-understanding up and the stock can merrily run to all time highs while you completely ignore the likely massive tax loss selling set to begin as the vast majority of bag holders are under water

And finally your love affair with gold which you think will only go ever higher forgetting that trees don't grow to the sky, gold is highly cyclical and prone to massive multi year selloffs...should that happen now that Trump is the mafia Don again your pain will only increase.

It's hard to be objective...everyone wants to "believe" in happy endings....best advice is simply to never fall in love with anything...woman, stock, ideology, religion, cult, mindset, philosophy etc Be honest with yourself, admit when you're wrong or simply say you don't know and if you don't know, don't act...that's like agreeing to marry a blind date.
