You can call it whatever you want, but it sounds from all the different quotes and descriptions that this was not done as a bonus but rather as something that is required. "Essential" may give that away.
But who cares. Everyone should know that you don't just magnify everything by some factor from lab scale, put it together and you get same but bigger product by that magnification. They hit a snag, they are addressing it. Could have waited for the first batch and then just issue that news without explaining the changes and challenges to get it. I am guessing they issued the NR because many are wondering whether silence means problems. And the questioning of silence is because they issued so many NRs before. Self-inflicted and unnecessary IMO. But carry on, that's the expectation they set and now they have to live up to it.
