Oil Prices Inflation Woodstock Taylor Swift

Oil Prices Inflation Woodstock Taylor SwiftAt dinner tonight my wife and I saw a clip of people lined up to buy merchandisde for the Taylor Swift Concert in Toronto.  One young lady spent $700 on a few things...not to mention the price of admission

me..being me...I wondered about inflation about these things...

Picking a random year...1920....Iooked at the relative inflation of oil compared to today's price and then compared what I paid for an advance ticket to Woodstock in 1969 (yep..I was loser since most people got in for free)

Soooo....since 1920, the price of oil hasn't kept up with inflation so it is actually cheaper than it was back then.

Concerts...remember that the cost of my ticket to Woodstock was for three days not three hours was $18US....the price of an Eres ticket in Toronto today was $1400...much more than the rate of inflation between 1969 and now.

Conclusion?

Oil is a better deal than buying concert tickets...lol
