WRLG Shares High-Grade Discovery at Madsen's Upper 8 Target West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. (Ticker: WRLG.v or WRLGF for US investors) continues to advance its flagship Madsen Gold Mine in Red Lake, one of the world’s most prolific gold districts, targeting a gold production restart in 2025.
Today, WRLG has announced a significant new discovery at the Upper 8 Target, reinforcing the property's potential. These results follow significant intercepts reported in October, including 44.17 g/t Au over 1.3m and 20.63 g/t Au over 0.5m.
The Upper 8 Target, located 750m up-plunge from the deeper high-grade 8-Zone, is hosted in the Russet Lake Ultramafic unit and exhibits similarities in mineralization style.
The zone currently hosts an Indicated resource of 87,700 oz @ 18 g/t Au and an Inferred resource of 18,200 oz @ 14.6 g/t Au.
WRLG successfully defined a new ore shoot at Upper 8, measuring approximately 30m wide and extending 130m along plunge. Importantly, this new zone of mineralization remains open at depth, offering significant growth potential.
Key drill results include:
-
1.5m @ 21.44 g/t Au, with 0.5m @ 52.17 g/t Au and visible gold (30 specks noted).
-
2m @ 7.41 g/t Au, with 0.5m @ 23.74 g/t Au
These results underscore WRLG’s strategy to expand near-surface mineralization at Madsen, with the grades and visible gold encountered at Upper 8 highlighting the potential for another major discovery and boosting confidence in the district’s untapped high-grade deposits.
Notably, WRLG has added a second drill rig to focus on this target.
The company is also nearing completion on the pre-feasibility study (PFS) for Madsen.
The study's final phase focuses on enhancing underground development strategies, streamlining infrastructure plans, and refining cost projections for operations and capital expenditures, with completion expected in early 2025.
With a clear focus on restarting gold production at Madsen by 2025, West Red Lake Gold Mines is not only advancing the project's established zones but also uncovering significant new high-grade potential.
These discoveries, combined with the upcoming completion of the pre-feasibility study, position WRLG to unlock substantial value in one of the world’s richest gold districts.
