Orovalle has signed with the four trade union sections represented in its Business Committee (SOMA-FITAG-UGT, USE, CCOO and CSI) its III Collective Agreement, an agreement includes the Plan for the Prevention and Action against Alcohol and/or Drug Use, an Equality and Protocol Plan for the Prevention and Action in Cases of Sexual Harassment or on the basis of sex, and a Protocol for the prevention and action of harassment at work,
The Plan for the Prevention and Action against the Use of Alcohol and/or Drugs, a pioneer in the sector in Asturias, stems from the commitment contained in Article 38 of the 2nd Orovalle Collective Agreement, signed in December 2019, and responds to the company's firm commitment to preventive culture. Its main objective is the prevention of drug and alcohol use in the workplace, seeking solutions that do not focus on criminalization, but contribute to the search for an adequate response to the need for each worker. For this reason, the Plan includes various exceptional measures in the implementation of the disciplinary regime in force in the Company for positive cases in random controls. The Plan will make it possible to act in the field of information and training as the first element of awareness-raising by developing prevention plans for the consumption of substances, says the company.
Random sensation, controls and tests of consumption
The plan includes information and training actions aimed at providing information on the use of substances, their effects and consequences. In the implementation phase of the Plan, the entire Orovalle staff will receive training on the Prevention Plan. There are also awareness-to-conscious and participatory actions: that encourage the dissemination to all workers of the Plan and promote their participation in the development of the Plan. In addition to the carrying out of training actions, channels for the detection of the different problems will be established, implementing controls in medical examinations, as well as random tests. The tests will be carried out by trained health personnel for their conduct. The Plan sets out the procedures for action necessary for testing to be carried out with the maximum guarantees of both accuracy of results and confidentiality of information. The maximum limits allowed in the facilities of Orovalle, for the entire staff, will be those that at any time determine the General Regulation of Movement for drivers of any vehicle related to alcohol / drugs. Assistance and rehabilitation also arises: the company ' s medical service will provide information and guidance towards the necessary treatment if a health problem is identified and measures will be implemented to facilitate assistance to treatments that may be necessary.
With regard to the Collective Agreement, the main points of the agreement have been a fixed wage increase of more than 10% accumulated in the period 2023-2025; an additional wage increase of up to 1% per year in 2024 and 2025, linked to the evolution of the CPI and the reduction of the level of absenteeism; and reductions in the annual working day of up to 36 hours per year.
